Children of the Dying Hearth (el. knyga) (skaityta knyga) | knygos.lt

Aprašymas

"...we are all just children...

living in the ruins of an old house,

huddled around the embers of a dying hearth."

Ages ago, the Empire of Kai'loth ruled the world.

Then they defied Him.

After their Sundering, the Empire faded into myth and fable. Now, the peoples of Tesseris are united only by the Crux - a sprawling city at the very center of the world, built upon the bones of the Empire. The city's Five Pentarchs govern with an unquestioned authority whose corruption is both open and endured.

Beyond the city, the Empire's sins have left scars, though some still bleed. As the millennia pass, doubt seeps into the Pentarchy's hold over the Crux, and there are some who would seek to test its rule. The pirates who plague the Verdant Sea grow bolder, creeping toward the Crux as they take man and beast alike to be sold as slaves or worse. All the while, the quiet sands of the Barrens have begun to stir: Entire villages are being swallowed by the sands, their lands churned as though tilled by Giants...

Yet where some see a world unraveling, others see providence. Whispers spread of lost heirs to the Empire, and a faithful few have sworn to find them, to return Tesseris to its former glory. But for some, an heir entombed is better than one enthroned.
